How to use the script generator
- Enter your product name so the script can mention it naturally.
- List the steps in the order they happen in your recording, one per line. Short is fine: "Click Invoices", "Pick a customer", "Send the invoice".
- Choose who's watching and the tone. A script for new users explains why a step matters. A sales script leads with the outcome. A script for app reviewers is plain and precise.
- Press Write my script. You get a title, a one-line intro, one narration line per step and a closing line. Edit anything you like, then copy it.
What makes a good demo script
A demo script is not a manual. The best ones sound like someone showing a colleague how something works.
- Say what each step achieves. "Pick the customer so the invoice goes to the right person" beats "Select a value in the Customer dropdown."
- One idea per line. Each line should match one step on screen and take a few seconds to say. About 25 words or fewer per line keeps the voice in step with the picture.
- Use the names on the screen. If the button says "New invoice", say "New invoice", not "Create". Viewers look for the words they hear.
- Vary how lines start. Ten lines that all start with "Click" sound robotic. Mix in what the viewer sees, why they're doing it, or what happens next.
- Keep the intro to one sentence. Tell people what they'll be able to do by the end, then start.
- End with the next step. "Your invoice is on its way. You'll see it marked Sent on the Invoices page."

From script to video
Once you have a script, you still need to record, voice it and line the voice up with the screen. That's the slow part.
Nook does it the other way round. Upload a screen recording you already have, even one where you didn't say anything, and Nook reads the screen, writes a line like these for each step, voices it with a natural AI voice (or tidies up your own), zooms in on each click and adds captions. You also get a step-by-step written guide from the same recording. Your first video is free.
Questions
Is the script generator free?
Yes. There's no sign-up and no cost. It has a fair-use limit of a few scripts an hour per person.
What AI writes the script?
An open large language model, prompted with the same rules Nook uses to narrate demo videos: second person, present tense, one or two short sentences per step, and only the button names you give it.
Can it write a script for an app review video?
Yes. Choose "App reviewers" as the audience and list each step the reviewer needs to see, such as signing in, granting a permission and using the feature. For platform rules, see app review videos.
How long should a demo video script be?
As long as the steps need, no longer. Most product demos are 1 to 3 minutes: 8 to 20 steps at a few seconds each. If your list runs past 30 steps, split it into two videos.
Do I need to record a voiceover after?
Not with Nook. Upload the recording and it voices the narration for you, in English or 14 other languages. Or keep your own voice: Nook can clean up what you said instead.
Turn the recording into a narrated demo
Upload the same screen recording to Nook. It writes and voices the script, adds zooms and captions, and writes the step-by-step guide. Your first video is free.
