A video widget on Shopify answers the doubts that quietly kill product-page conversions, sizing, shipping, "is this right for me?", with a real face instead of a text FAQ. It installs by adding one script tag to your theme, and shows on every storefront page.
Why a video widget on Shopify
Text FAQs and chatbots make visitors work. A video widget for your website does the opposite: a real face answers the one question a visitor is stuck on, as a short tap-to-play clip. On Shopify, that means fewer drop-offs on the pages where people hesitate, pricing, product, and signup. See also what a video FAQ widget is and why tap-to-play video beats chatbots.
How to add a video widget to Shopify
- Copy your snippet. From your Nook dashboard, open Install and copy the one-line script tag with your site key.
- Open your theme code. In Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes → … (three dots) → Edit code.
- Paste before </body>. Open theme.liquid, scroll to the bottom, and paste the snippet just before the closing </body> tag.
- Save. Click Save. The widget is now live on your storefront, no app required.
Your snippet looks like this (grab yours in Install):
<script src="https://cdn.usenook.live/embed/presence.min.js" data-key="YOUR_SITE_KEY" async></script> Tips for Shopify
- Prefer not to touch theme code? Add it through a "custom code" / header-footer app from the Shopify App Store instead.
- Duplicate your theme before editing (Themes → Actions → Duplicate) so you have a one-click rollback.
- The widget appears on all storefront pages; editing the checkout requires Shopify Plus, but product, collection, and home pages are where it earns its keep.
FAQ
Do I need a Shopify app to add a video widget? No. You can paste one script tag into theme.liquid before the closing body tag. An app is only handy if you’d rather not edit theme code.
Which pages will the video widget show on? All storefront pages, home, collection, and product, since it’s added to theme.liquid. Product pages are usually where it lifts conversion most.
Will it slow down my store? No. It loads asynchronously and only downloads a video when a shopper taps a question, so it doesn’t affect your store’s speed.
